The Gypsy Vanner
About The Breed
The Gypsy Vanner is a breed of horse originating in Great Britain created by the Romani people. Originally bred to pull the Gypsy Caravan, they were first introduced into North America in 1996.

The Gypsy Vanner Horse includes genetics from the Shire, the Clydesdale and other native British Ponies. The breed type is a small draft horse, heavy bone and broad body. This breed can come in any colour or pattern and typically stands between 14-15 hands. The Gypsy Vanner is most noted for the long mane and tail with flowing feather coming from the legs.

Along with the bold appearance, the breed must have the perfect temperment. The Gypsy Vanner is known for it's kind, willing and gentle demeanor, making it the perfect family horse. Because of the can-do attitude, the Gypsy Vanner is well suited for a wide range of disciplines including driving, jumping, dressage and western pleasure.
